On April 29, an event to clean up the Memorial Victory Park as part of the regional two-month sanitary and ecological campaign was held in Kazan.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Victory Park to take part in a traditional spring forest planting campaign.

“The Year of Ecology has already yielded first results. A lot of people together with their families are taking part in today's clean-up event in the Victory Park. The event is timed to coincide with the Great Victory Day. We have taken away the old leaves, have cleaned everything up and have planted trees. I believe that everyone is proud of being involved in this large-scale work,” Minnikhanov said in his interview to journalists.

Tatarstan President also noted that a programme on improving parks and public gardens and planting public recreation spaces with trees will be continued in the republic this year.

Today, all cities and municipal regions of the republic have been involved in the national ecological clean-up day “Green Russia”.
