Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Vladimir Puchkov arrives on a working visit in Kazan

On April 18, Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation Vladimir Puchkov, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan, was met by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Civil Defence and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Tatarstan – Head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Tatarstan and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.

Puchkov arrived in Kazan to hold a meeting of the working group of the Government Commission and the Tatarstan Government on the readiness of forces and facilities to ensure security during matches of the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Besides, Puchkov will take part in special tactical training exercises of forces and facilities of the Kazan territorial unit of the Russian Unified Emergency Rescue Service in Tatarstan for the liquidation of emergency situations caused by floods during the second stage of the command and staff exercises.

The Minister will also inspect production facilities of the Kazanorgsintez Chemical Company and the Kazan Helicopter Plant.

It is expected that later on today Puchkov will visit the state museum "The Island-town of Sviyazhsk", as well as a detached post of the State Public Institution of Tatarstan "Fire Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan" for protection of the island-town of Sviyazhsk.

Then, Puchkov will get acquainted with the infrastructure of the city of Innopolis, where, among other events, the opening ceremony of the fire and rescue unit No. 8 of the Federal Fire Service for the protection of the city of Innopolis will take place.
