Rustam Minnikhanov holds a meeting with Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Yuri Kokov

On March 23, at their meeting in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian republic Yuri Kokov discussed issues related to further development of interregional trade and economic cooperation, the strengthening of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere and prospects for implementing joint projects.

Upon his arrival in Kazan this morning, Kokov. accompanied by Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, Minister of Internal Affairs for the republic Artem Khokhhorin and Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects Azat Kadyrov, visited the Palace of Water Sports and the Kazan-Arena Stadium.

While looking around the Palace of Water Sports, Kokov was told about the facility, its technical features and unique solutions that were used during the construction. It was noted that the sports facility was built for the 2013 World Summer Universiade. In 2015, the Palace became the main competition venue for holding the FINA World Championships.

Then, Yuri Kokov visited the Kazan-Arena Stadium, the main sports heritage of the Universiade. While showing the guest the facility, Director of the stadium Radik Minnakhmetov told him about the history of the stadium construction and major international events that took place there. He also added that active preparation for the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup is currently underway at the football arena.

Later on the same day, Kokov took part in a plenary session of the Russia-China Business Forum and the inter-party dialogue between the United Russia Party and the Communist Party of China.
