Ildar Khalikov delivers a lecture for participants of the programme aimed at preparing management teams for the development of single-industry towns in Skolkovo

On March 23, in Skolkovo, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov delivered a lecture for participants of the programme aimed at preparing management teams for the development of single-industry towns. The lecture was devoted to the best practices and experience of Tatarstan. 

Delivering his lecture, Khalikov told about the experience of Tatarstan in the development of single-industry towns and projects being implemented there. He reminded that today there are seven mono-cities, including Naberezhnye Chelny, Yelabuga, Chistopol, Nizhnekamsk, Kamskiye Polyany, Mendeleevsk and Zelenodolsk in the republic. He said that industrial sites were created in each of them. As of today, there are 62 such sites with 354 resident companies in the republic. Khalikov particularly noted the Master Kama industrial park (Naberezhnye Chelny), covering an area of 640,000 square meters with more than 250 residents and revenues amounting to about 45 billion roubles in 2016.

Prime Minister of Tatarstan emphasized that the regional leadership controls the implementation of each projects. Accroding to him,  due to such a serious approach Naberezhnye Chelny became the first city in Russia that was granted the status of the territory of advanced social and economic development. 

Khalikov noted that usually investors are interested not only in tax benefits, but also in relevant infrastructure, business climate, qualified personnel and other issues that can ensure the successful implementation of their projects.

At the end of the lecture, Khalikov also answered questions from the audience.
