Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian Federation to Volga Federal District gets acquainted with the implementation of the programme to improve urban environment in Kazan

On March 22, together with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Aide to Tatarstan President Natalia Fishman and other officials Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian Federation to Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich visited the yard of the house on Amirkhan Street in Kazan.

Babich was informed that this yard unites four houses, where 823 families or 2095 people live. The opportunity to improve its territory appeared due to the regional programme, which started in 2011. There are three recreation areas, children's and sports grounds, as well as landscaped paths in the yard. The improvement cost 11.5 million roubles.

A total of 1,145 yards, or 48 per cent of the total number were improved in Kazan alone from 2011 to 2016. A lot of parks and public gardens were laid out, embankments and other public areas are being improved in the republic.

Natalia Fishman reported on the republic's experience in the development of the urban environment and various spaces for people's recreation.

Later on today, Babich visited the ZARNITSA Production Association. During a short tour around its production facilities, he was told about research and inventive activities of the company, the participation of the association in various federal programmes, interaction with educational institutions of the republic.
