Hungary's Minister of National Development Miklós Seszták gets acquainted with Agromir-Kazan project

On March 2, Hungary's Minister of National Development Miklós Seszták accompanied by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov visited Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

CEO of the agency Taliya Minullina briefly told the guests about main areas of activity of the Investment Development Agency and current level of trade and economic relations between Tatarstan and Hungary. Besides, the investment potential of the republic was presented in a short video presentation.

Then, the Minister had a meeting with senior managers of Agromir-Kazan logistics centre. Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov, Executive Director of Agromir-Kazan - Wholesale Distribution Centre Vladimir Arefiev, head of Pestretsy region Eduard Diyarov and other officials also took part in the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Arefiev said that Agromir wholesale distribution center will solve a wide range of important tasks. First of all, it will contribute to the creation of a new civilized market of agricultural products of the European type in the republic.

In total, it is planned to build 13 such centres in Russia. In the near future three complexes will be built in Moscow, Kazan and Rostov-on-Don. Agromir- Kazan project consists of two stages, including a wholesale distribution centre and a retail park.

There will be more than 500,000 square meters of buildings in an area of ​​about 175 hectares in the centre. The trade turnover will exceed 700,000 tonnes of products for the sum of more than one billion US dollars per year. The centre will be open in 2018.

According to Arefiev, Agromir-Kazan is in talks regarding attraction of strategic partners, including financing, management, delivery and sale of agricultural products at markets of the wholesale distribution center in Russia. "Hungary has traditionally supplied agricultural products to the Russian market. Cooperation under this project will allow Hungarian manufacturers to increase their deliveries to Russia and Tatarstan in particular," he said.

The meeting also discussed possible forms of cooperation between Tatarstan and Hungary as part of Agromir-Kazan project.
