Tatarstan is the leader in organization of autumn draft 2016 in Russia

On January 11, at All-Russia video conference, Head of the Main organizational and mobilization department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel General Vasily Toshkankurov said that 152,000 people were sent to compulsory military service during the autumn draft 2016.

Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin and military commissar Sergey Pogodin represented the republic at the conference.

It was noted that 4,000 people were sent to military service in October-December 2016 in Tatarstan.

According to Pesoshin, rectors of high educational institutions were included into the regional draft commissions to motivate students for passing military service.

Besides, military commissars were appointed at every university and institute in order to carry out information work with students. Doctors look after health of future draftees at student polyclinics. Also, meetings with war veterans and graduates of military service are often held.
