Ildar Khalikov meets with Head of Association “Korea-Tatarstan” Mr Su-Meng Kim

On November 24, at his meeting with Head of the Association “Korea-Tatarstan” Mr Su-Meng Kim, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov said: “We are proud to be a strategic partner of Korea along with Moscow and some other Russian regions.”

The prime minister noted that Russia and Korea established close cooperation, and since 1990 presidents of the two countries met 24 times. On January 1, 2014 Korea introduced a visa-free entry for Russian citizens.

Khalikov continued that the meeting was held within the framework of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Korea. He thanked for the support in organization of the tour of the State folk orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan in Korea, and the exhibition which opened in the House of Peoples’ friendship of Tatarstan on November 21.

Ildar Khalikov presented economic potential of the republic, noting that Tatarstan is one of the largest industrially developed regions in Russia, with oil production, oil refining, and engineering sectors being the most developed industries.
