Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the National Day of Knowledge

Dear citizens of Tatarstan!

Dear teachers!

From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate pupils and students, parents, teachers and nursery teachers, all employees and old stagers of the educational system of Tatarstan on the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of a new school year.

We all remember well a joyful, exciting day when the first school bell, announcing the beginning of a long journey into the fascinating world of knowledge and creative achievements, rang in our life. Today, thousands of young Tatarstan people are feeling these touching moments, passing through the school gates for the first time, sitting at their desks, meeting their first teacher.

Education and science are a solid foundation for the success and prosperity of every nation, every state. “Any happiness, any prosperity, any liberation,” as the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay rightly put, “can only be expected from knowledge and enlightenment.” Without deep knowledge, scientific, technical and social progress is impossible. In the era of information technology and high speeds, this formula for success becomes even more relevant.

In Tatarstan, which is one of the leaders in the implementation of the national Education project, the development of a modern school, a digital educational environment, and the support of teachers and young professionals are among the priority areas of the state policy. This year, we have launched a new project to create multilingual educational complexes.

The holding of the 45th Worldskills Competition in Kazan has become a clear recognition of the achievements of Tatarstan in the training of competitive personnel. The Kazan International Expo Exhibition Centre, the largest in the Volga region, built for this purpose, has become a new platform for international and interregional communications, an effective platform for transferring world technology and knowledge.

I want to express my gratitude to our wonderful teachers, nursery teachers, representatives of the teaching staff. Let the new school year bring you the joy of creative victories and outstanding discoveries!
