Tatarstan President takes part in a festive prayer on the occasion of Eid Al Adha

On August 11, at the Galleev Mosque in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a festive prayer on the occasion of Eid Al Adha prayer. Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov and Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Milli Shura National Council of the World Congress of Tatars Vasil Shaikhraziev took part in the event.

Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin held a festive prayer. Before preaching a traditional sermon, he read congratulations from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

During the sermon, Samigullin described in details the origin of Eid Al Adha holiday. He reminded about the great challenge of the prophet Ibrahim, who was ready to give his own son's life in the name of faith. But Allah had mercy and the sacrifice was replaced by a ram.

Mufti told the gathered about the deepest meaning of the ceremony of offering sacrifices. Moreover, he touched on family values, the upbringing of children and care for relatives.

After that, the festive prayer took place in the mosque.

Later on the same day, Mufti of the republic handed in a special copy of the translation of the interpretations of the Koran in the Tatar language to Minnikhanov. The book was published by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan at the Khuzur Publishing House.
