Rustam Minnikhanov hands in state awards of Russia and Tatarstan in the Russia Day

On June 12, at the Pyramida Entertainment Complex in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and State Counsellor of the republic, the Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation Mintimer Shaimiev took part in a solemn event on the occasion of the Russia Day.

In the hall of the complex, Minnikhanov and Shaimiev got acquainted with an exhibition of documents from the State Archive of Tatarstan dedicated to the history of working skills in Tatarstan. The exhibition provides information about the competitions of the best in the profession - analogue to the WorldSkills Competition. The purpose of these contests was to increase the prestige of the working skills. Competitions were held in vocational schools and enterprises of the republic.

Minnikhanov welcomed the participants of the event and congratulated them on the Russia Day. He emphasized that at the core of all the achievements of the country is the creative work of citizens, including Tatarstan citizens. “We are grateful to the workforces of the republic, representatives of all generations for their contribution to the strengthening of stability and interethnic harmony. Together, taking part in economic and social transformations, implementing national projects, we look forward with confidence,” Minnikhanov said.

“Today, those who strengthen our state by their deeds and are an example of serving the Fatherland are taking part in the event. Please, accept my sincere appreciation for your contribution to the development of the Russian Federation,” he added.

Tatarstan President handed in state awards of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. Minnikhanov handed over the Order of Honour to the Secretary of Tatarstan Security Council Rafail Gilmanov, Order for Merit to the Fatherland 1st class to Deputy Chief of Police for Operations of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic Pavel Serov and Order for Merit to the Fatherland 2nd class to Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs of the republic Anna Zakhmatove.

He also handed in Orders of Merits for the Republic of Tatarstan to a number of Tatarstan citizens.
