Tatarstan and the Novosibirsk region intend to develop mutual cooperation

On June 9, at their meeting in the Administration of Novosibirsk region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikanov and Governor of Novosibirsk region Andrey Travnikov signed an agreement on trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural cooperation.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minnikhanov thanked Travnikov for his help in the organization of the Federal Sabantui and the support of the activities of Tatar community organizations in the region, which strengthens interethnic relations, and expressed confidence that the holiday will be held at a high level.

Tatarstan President also noted that the annual interregional trade turnover has been hovering at the level of 3.5 billion roubles for several years. Tatarstan supplies trucks and cars, buses, tires, food, medicines, chemical products, consumer goods to the region. Food, finishing and paintwork materials are delivered from the Novosibirsk region to the republic. The parties agreed that the regions have great potential for the development of trade turnover and that it is necessary to work together. Tatarstan is ready to increase supplies of engineering products, petrochemicals, aircraft engineering, agriculture and health care.

Tatarstan universities and research organizations are also interested in expanding cooperation with the Novosibirsk region. It is planned to sign joint cooperation programmes on scientific research and professional staff training in the future. Tatarstan also intends to strengthen cooperation with the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

At the end of the meeting, Minnikhanov said that on August 22 - 27 of the current year, Kazan will host the 45th WorldSkills Competition and invited the delegation of the Novosibirsk region to visit Tatarstan these days.

At the end of the meeting, Tatarstan President and Head of the Novosibirsk region signed the Agreement mentioned above and the Road Map for the implementation of the Agreement for 2019-2021.
