Cooperation agreement signed between Tatarstan and Kaluga region

On June 6, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2019), Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Governor of Kaluga region Aleksander Artamonov signed a cooperation agreement between the republic and the region.

Before the start of the signing ceremony, Minnikhanov emphasized that: “The necessity for this document was long overdue. Kaluga region is one of the most successful regions of Russia. We should give impetus to strengthening mutually beneficial partnership”.

According to him, the establishment of a contractual framework of cooperation will create conditions for expanding business contacts. He also proposed to exchange business delegations in the near future.

Tatarstan President emphasized that the cooperation in the engineering industry, mutual deliveries of food and other consumer goods, construction materials are among the promising areas.

Today, the trade turnover of Tatarstan and the Kaluga region is 8 billion roubles, and, according to Minnikhanov, this figure should be increased.

The participants of the meeting noted that on June 10 of the current year, a direct flight from Kazan to Kaluga will be launched. This is expected to promote both business cooperation and the development of tourism. Tatarstan President noted that the Kaluga region is a region with high tourist potential: it is about 2.5 million tourists a year.

Then, the ceremony of signing an agreement on trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural cooperation between Tatarstan and the Kaluga region took place.
