Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society of Thuringia Wolfgang Tiefensee discuss issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation

On May 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Minister of Economic Affairs, Science, and Digital Society of Thuringia Wolfgang Tiefensee, who is on a working visit in Kazan as a member of a representative delegation from Thuringia (Germany).

Yesterday, on the 20th of May, Tiefensee took part in the opening ceremony of the final of the 7th Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia) National Championship.

In particular, Minnikhanov thanked Tiefensee for his participation in the opening ceremony of the championship and for the welcome address on behalf of Prime Minister of the state of Thuringia.

Minnikhanov also noted that the delegation of Tatarstan paid several visits in Thuringia in 2013 and 2016. A lot of work  has been done to strengthen our cooperation and expand business contacts, he stressed.

It is expected that during the current visit of the delegation from Thuringia to Tatarstan will find new areas of cooperation, which will positively affect our bilateral relations as a whole, Tatarstan President said.

Minnikhanov also stressed that there is no any misunderstanding between Tatarstan and Thuringia at the interregional level. We are ready to support Thuringian businessmen who are willing to work in the region, he said.

Tatarstan and Thuringia are interacting in the field of science and education. Thus, a cooperation agreement was signed between Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University and Technical University of Ilmenau (Thuringia).

KAMAZ Automaker and Erfurt Educational Centre also signed a cooperation agreement in the field of vocational education.

“At the invitation of Prime Minister of Thuringia Bodo Ramelow we will again visit your region in a month,” Minnikhanov said. “I am sure that this visit will be another impetus for our mutually beneficial relationship.”
