Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in a meeting on legality and practice of public prosecutor’s supervision in the sphere of solid municipal waste handling in Yekaterinburg

On May 7, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov paid a working visit to Sverdlovsk region to take part in a meeting held by Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika on legality and practice of public prosecutor’s supervision in the sphere of solid municipal waste handling in the Far Eastern, Volga, Siberian and Ural Federal Districts.

First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Aleksander Buksman made a keynote report on results of supervisory practices and urgent problems in this area.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov, reminded  in particular that "a new system is being set up at the moment, and therefore it is important to promptly address emerging problems by consolidating efforts of all institutions, including prosecution authorities”.

The meeting noted that as part of the transition to a new waste management system, regional operators have intensified their activities for timely collection and transportation of waste, have ensured disclosure of information in the field of waste management, and have eliminated violations of the procedure for calculating and charging fees for services rendered.
