Rustam Minnikhanov: The Kazan Muslim Film Festival contributes to the development of tourism attractiveness of the city

On April 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met heads of international film festivals and guests of the 15th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival.

The 15th International Muslim Film Festival will be held in Kazan on April 24 -30 under the auspices of Tatarstan President and in partnership with the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group. This year the festival is held as part of the 11th International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2019". The short-list includes 55 films from around the world.

Minnikhanov thanked participants of the meeting for their attention to the Kazan Film Festival. “We are glad that the number of participants of the festival and the number of films submitted are increasing every year. This festival contributes to the development of tourism attractiveness of Kazan, its recognition throughout the world,” he said.

Tatarstan President also added that a lot of work is being done in the republic to improve cultural facilities, including cinema halls in municipal regions of the republic.

Then, the meeting discussed various issues of cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in the field of cinema, the training of specialists and other matters.
