Russian President Vladimir Putin discusses the Housing and Urban Environment national project with members of the public

On February 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to hold a Presidium meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation on improving the living conditions of the population and creating a comfortable urban environment, discussed the implementation of the Housing and Urban Environment national project with members of the public.

Upon his arrival, Putin and his entourage went to Moskovsky Centre of Culture and Sports.

Director General of KAMAZ Automaker, Co-Chairman of the Central Staff of the Popular Front Sergey Kogogin was the moderator of the meeting.

The meeting discussed the development of urban environment, the establishment of parks and squares and the involvement of citizens in the discussion of plans for establishing public spaces.

Before the meeting, Putin together with Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Moskovsky Renovated Centre of Culture and Sports - a multifunctional area with environment for the creative, intellectual and physical development of children and adults.

The Centre was the city’s pilot project on transformation of palaces of culture into modern cultural centres.
