On February 8, speaking at a joint meeting of the Council of Zelenodolsk municipal region and the Council of the town of Zelenodolsk, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that Zelenodolsk occupies a special place in the life of Tatarstan and has significant potential for its further development.

The meeting summed up results of the socio-economic development of Zelenodolsk municipal region in 2018 and set tasks for 2019. Head of the region Aleksander Tygin made a keynote report at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Pesoshin said that the territory of the Zelenodolsk region is attractive both for organizing large-scale industrial production, medium and small business, as well as for leisure and educational tourism. The region has rich historical and cultural heritage, favorable geographical location, broad water area and natural objects, convenient transport logistics.

“The town of Zelenodolsk with its defence industry potential, the island-town of Sviyazhsk, the Raifa Monastery of the Mother of God is known far beyond the republic,” the Prime Minister said.

Pesoshin also reminded that Zelenodolsk, along with Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk and Chistopol, received the status of the Territory of Advanced Social and Economic Development (TASED).

“We expect that the formation of all these territories will make it possible to create about 17,000 new jobs in 10-year period, to attract more than 62 billion roubles of investments (62.1), more than 34 billion roubles (34.3) of which are capital investments."

“This status opens up new opportunities for Zelenodolsk for economic growth,” the Prime Minister said. Speaking at the meeting, Tygin noted that four companies have already received the status of a resident of the TASED. At the same time, it is important to understand that competition among the TASED, even in our republic is high, not to mention nationwide. ”
