On December 27, in the Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting of the State Council held by Russian President Vladimir Putin on the development of the volunteer movement and socially-oriented non-profit organizations.

The meeting summed up the results of the Year of the Volunteer in Russia, and considered further plans for the development of the volunteer movement and socially oriented non-profit organisations.

In addition to the traditional participation of governors and heads of Russian regions, volunteers and representatives of socially oriented non-profit organizations also took part in the meeting.

Putin greeted them and thanked everyone for their generous participation in people’s destinies. He noted that the number of such like-minded people is increasing in our country, and that thanks to the efforts of volunteers, among other things, there are now hundreds of thousands and maybe even millions of them.

The President reminded that  2018 was declared the Year of the Volunteer and stated that support for the volunteer movement is not restricted to formal calendar deadlines and that this support will certainly continue.

“The Government has already drafted the concept for developing the volunteer movement until 2025,” Putin said.
