07.12.2018

On December 7, speaking at the Czech-Tatarstan Business Forum, Regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that Tatarstan and the Czech Republic have long-standing relations and it is necessary to continue mutual cooperation and give new impetus to it.

He emphasized that Tatarstan pays special attention to innovative development - the creation of nano- and biotechnologies, the production of composite materials and other areas. The republic already has a wealth of experience in international business cooperation, because foreign partners are taking part in many of these projects.

Pesoshin called the promising joint projects between the republics such as the attraction of residents at the investment venues of Tatarstan, cooperation in machine-building, metalworking, agricultural sector and other areas.

Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Marta Nováková, who arrived in Kazan to take part in a meeting of the Russian-Czech Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Industrial and Scientific and Technical Cooperation supported Pesoshin and emphasized the warm welcome given to the Czech delegation in Tatarstan.

She called high technology one of the important areas for cooperation.

The trade turnover between Tatarstan and the Czech Republic is constantly increasing. According to the results of the current year, the indicators can increase by 18–20 per cent, Novakova concluded.
