Rustam Minnikhanov meets Cultural Adviser to the President of Russia Vladimir Tolstoy

On December 1, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Cultural Adviser to the President of Russia Vladimir Tolstoy, who is the great-great-grandson of the great Russian writer, discussed issues of preserving the heritage of the classic of Russian literature Leo Tolstoy.

Kazan has a special place in the biography of Leo Tolstoy. In 2015, Leo Tolstoy's Museum was opened in Kazan.

The year of 2018 has been declared the Year of Leo Tolstoy in the republic. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov announced this decision during his annual message to the State Council of the republic and singed the corresponding decree on the 21st of September, 2017.
