Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at an unveiling ceremony of the monument to St. Peter and Fevronia: Family values are the most important thing for all of us

On November 4, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an unveiling ceremony of the monument to prince Peter and princess Fevronia, erected in Kazan.

On June, 2015, on the initiative of the Russian National Cultural Association, Minnikhanov decided to establish a monument to St. Peter and Fevronia.

At the unveiling ceremony, Minnikhanov congratulated all gathered on the National Day of Unity and unveiling such a monument in Kazan.

“I congratulate everyone on this event. Due to our colleagues, the Russian National Cultural Association, a symbol of family and nobility appeared here. I sincerely thank them for this idea. I believe that family values ​​ are the most important thing for all of us,” Minnikhanov said at the ceremony.

“We believe that the family is the foundation of any state and a strong family is a strong country. And, of course, we will do everything to promote family values ​​in modern society,” Tatarstan President said.

During the ceremony, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan consecrated the monument in honor of the Orthodox saints.

Feofan thanked the leadership of Tatarstan for their attentive and careful attitude to Orthodox shrines and traditions. Speaking about Tatarstan President, the Metropolitan noted: Rustam Minnikhanov is a man who always responds to the best that comes from the bottom of hearts.

Speaking at the event, Chairperson of the Russian National Cultural Association Irina Aleksandrovskaya also emphasized that Tatarstan President supports many initiatives of the Association.
