Mintimer Shaimiev meets Toyohisa Kozuka

On October 30, in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Revival Regional Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev had a meeting with Ambassador of Japan to Russia Toyohisa Kozuka, who arrived in Kazan to take part in the opening ceremony of the Days of Japanese Culture in Tatarstan to be held today at the Manezh exhibition hall of the Kazan Kremlin.

The guests got acquainted with the exposition dedicated to the projects aimed at preserving historical and cultural heritage, implemented with the assistance of the Revival Foundation.

Shaimiev told Kozuka about the eight-year activity of the Foundation for the revival of the ancient city of Bolgar and the island-town of Sviyazhsk, about the sights at these ancient cities and invited the distinguished guests to visit them in summer.

Kozuka reminded about his recent visit to Kazan during the visit of the Princess of Japan Hisako Takamado to Russia during the FIFA World Cup and thanked for a warm welcome extended to a member of the Japanese imperial family.

State Counsellor of the republic and Ambassador of Japan to Russia discussed issues of expanding contacts between Japan and Tatarstan in the field of economy, culture, science, education and preservation of cultural heritage.

Kozuka noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of expanding comprehensive ties of the republic with Japanese business circles, as well as strengthening cooperation in the field of culture and education due to the efforts of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and his team as part of cooperation between Russia and Japan.
