Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov meets President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi

On October 14, immediately upon arrival in Cairo, at the Al-Ittihadia Palace Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. The meeting was held on the eve of the official visit of the Egyptian President to the Russian Federation.

Tatarstan President expressed sincere gratitude for the invitation to visit Egypt and for the excellent hospitality.

“We are grateful to the leadership of our countries for their attention to the issues of establishing favorable conditions for expanding interregional cooperation. At its level, Tatarstan is ready to contribute to the development of business and cultural ties. Our delegation arrived in Cairo to explore new opportunities for economic cooperation under the Russian-Egyptian relations,” Minnikhanov said and briefed about the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan.

Minnikhanov informed Egyptian President about the activity of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, which he has been heading on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin since 2014 and which includes over 50 experts from 32 countries.

Among the main tasks of the Group are to facilitate the process of bringing Russia with the Islamic world closer on a cultural and civilizational basis, to establish economic cooperation and to expand interaction between youth and public organizations. The work to promote the traditional values ​​of Islam in order to counter radical ideas in society is also carried out by the Group.

Tatarstan President said that another efficient venue for the economic interaction between Russia and the Muslim world is the International Economic Summit “Russia - the Islamic world: KazanSummit”. He also noted that during the last two years, under the summit, Russia-Egypt round table was held and Tatarstan will always be glad to see business missions and various delegations in the republic.
