On October 9, at the SMENA modern culture centre, participants of the architectural workshop “MARSH-2018 in Kazan” introduced to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov architectural concepts of social and cultural centers of the republic and a plan of their content filling.
This year, the MARSH developed architectural concepts for the renovation of Tatarstan youth centers and clubs, recreation camps and cultural centers for the first time. Teams of architects led by the specialists in the area of socio-cultural facilities management developed the concepts.
Tatarstan Ministry of Youth Affairs initiated this interaction. Government of the republic, Cities Development Institute and MARSH architectural school were the organizers of the workshop.
The architects faced global task: to reconsider the Soviet morally outdated cultural centres of the modernist era and turn them into modern, open and friendly spaces.
Minnikhanov appreciated the submitted projects. According to him, the projects are very interesting and creative ideas should be used.
Today, it is important to change the people’s minds and well-developed public spaces and public facilities help to do it.
He also reminded that a modernization programme of cultural centres is being implemented in the republic and it is important not to be late with the implementation of ideas.
