Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin meets senior executives of Chinese COFCO Company

On August 28, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin had a meeting with Chi Jingtao, Director General of China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO) and its representatives, who arrived on a short-term working visit in Kazan to get acquainted with opportunities for cooperation in agricultural industry.

Pesoshin thanked the Chinese partners for interest and desire they had shown in development of cooperation with the republic.

He emphasized that the People's Republic of China is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. 

The trade turnover between the parties amounted to 565,5 million US dollars in 2017.

Tatarstan Prime Minister briefly introduced the region and emphasized the main economic achievements and the most promising projects. Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions of the country, he noted.

The republic has traditionally been one of the leading Russian regions in agricultural industry. The gross agriculture output, taking into account all categories of farms, amounted to 256,1 billion roubles in 2017.

The representatives of the COFCO had a number of meetings in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the republic.
