Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the ceremony of awarding Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbaev the title of Honorary Doctor of the Kazan Federal University

On June 15, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn ceremony of awarding Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbaev the title of Honorary Doctor of the Kazan Federal University. Rector of the University Ilshat Gafirov handed in a diploma to Nazarbaev.

Kazakhstan students met Nazarbaev and the other guests at the main building of the University. Over 1200 students from Kazakhstan are studying at the universities of Tatarstan.

After the ceremony, Nazarbaev delivered a speech about long-standing relationships between Russia and Kazakhstan, in particular, with Tatarstan and the Kazan Federal University.

He also made an entry in the Book of Honorable Guests in which he thanked the University for its hospitality and underlined the depth and strength of the historical relations between the university and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
