Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Russia Day

On June 12, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnihanov addressed residents of the republic on the occasion of the Russia Day.

"Dear residents of Tatarstan! Our country is celebrating the main state holiday - the Russia Day! Achievements in social and economic development, enhancement of defense capacity, protection of our country's positions on the international arena have laid the groundwork for the confidence and unity of all Russian people. Tatarstan is making its worthy contribution to the strengthening of the power of our Motherland as one of the leading regions. The overwhelming majority of Tatarstan residents fully support the policy and initiatives of our national leader Vladimir Putin on the comprehensive development of the Russian Federation.

Social and political stability, interethnic and interfaith peace and harmony, conscientious work allow the republic to achieve the implementation of large-scale tasks of the Strategy of social and economic development of Tatarstan until 2030. The production capacities of petrochemical complex are growing. A large-scale modernization in power engineering, machine building sectors and the defense industrial complex is progress. The agricultural facilities are consistently improved. The growth of investments, the development of the IT industry, and the introduction of modern technologies are underway.

Economic transformations make it possible to consistently improve the life of people, contribute to the development of human capital. Comprehensive measures to improve the environment, promote healthy lifestyle, sports and tourism have found wide support. Careful attitude to national traditions, historical, cultural and spiritual heritage are distinctive features of social relations.

Our country will host a grand holiday of sports – matches of the FIFA World Cup. Many thousands of participants and fans are coming to Kazan, they have good mood and good thoughts. I am sure that, according to our long-standing tradition, we will meet them with sincere cordiality and do our best so that they come back to us again and again.
