On June 9, speaking at a video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of all municipal regions of the republic and Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov reported on the approaches to growing crops.

The Minister also reported on the development of the livestock sector and stressed that the procurement prices for milk has stopped lowering recently. Thus, the price is 18.40 roubles per kilogram without VAT in the republic.

Akhmetov asked the heads of municipal regions to pay the most serious attention to the purchase of milk from the population to make sure that the prices are not understated. Then, he presented an analysis of the activities of a number of regions in terms of daily milk yields.

Akhmetov said that the average daily milk yield per cow is about 16 kilogram in the republic.

"In terms of milk production, there was almost no increase in May as compared to the previous year," Akhmetov said. "The same situation has been observed in early June."

"The dairy industry has always been the main daily money resource, therefore, it should be the focus of attention every day,” Akhmetov concluded.
