Rustam Minnikhanov addressing Laishevo farmers: Neighborhood to Kazan is your competitive advantage

On May 20, during his working visit to Laishevo region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov and Head of Laishevo region Mikhail Afanasiev assessed the spring sowing campaign in the region.

Before the meeting with the farmers, Minnikhanov visited an exhibition of the Laishevo agricultural producers.

The Head of the region reported on the sowing campaign and said that it is planned to sow 26,000 hectares, including 15,500 hectares of spring crops and 10,500 hectares of winter crops. As many as 3,000 hectares are allocated for industrial crops, in particular rape, sunflower, soya. In total, 67 per cent of the area has been sown today. It is planned to finish the sowing campaign by May 26.

Minnikhanov noted that farmers of Laishevo region have a great advantage - proximity to Kazan, a large sales market. “The most important thing is the market. You are located near Kazan, where the population is over 1.2 million people. It is necessary to use this competitive advantage. Master the electronic forms of trade,” Minnikhanov said.

Later on the same day, he visited Malaya Elga village and inspected the rural club after the capital repair. He handed in a state award “Honoured worker of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan” for the significant contribution to the development of culture and long-term fruitful work to Raulya Valiullina, who is the director of the Maloelginsky National Theatre “Tylsym”.

Tatarstan President thanked the staff of the rural club and the theater artists for their work being done to preserve Tatar national traditions, native language and culture.
