On April 17, speaking at a regional video-conference at Tatarstan Government House, Deputy Head of Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the republic Sergey Sergeev reported that special fire-fighting regime will be introduced in Tatarstan from April 30 to May 15.

Tatarstan Minister of Forestry Ravil Kuzyurov made a report on the preparation of forces and resources of the ministry for the fire season 2018.

Kuzyurov said that the fire season in Tatarstan began on March 15. He noted that foresters are fully prepared to this time. The number of the forest firefighting groups is 343 people and 310 units of equipment. There are 23 fire-chemical stations in the republic. As many as 150 mobile fire-fighting mobile groups were formed.

He reported on preventive measures aimed at avoiding forest fires and reminded about the fines.

Thus, a fine for violation of fire safety requirements under special fire-fighting regime in the forests is ranging from 4,000 to 5,000 roubles for citizens, from 20,000 to 40,000 roubles for officials and from 300,000 to 500,000 roubles for legal entities.

There are 82 settlements bordering on the forests that are at risk in Tatarstan. Over 150 facilities are also in the risk zone: garden associations and children's recreation camps. Firefighters will control all these facilities, Sergey Sergeev noted.
