On April 16, during his working visit to the city of Visakhapatnam, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Pharma-City pharmaceutical cluster and got acquainted with the experience of work of the industrial park.

It was noted during the presentation that the establishment of a special zone specializing in pharmacy was initiated by the government of Andhra Pradesh in 2004.

Today, Pharma City is India's largest manufacturing center of drugs, pharmaceuticals, products for the chemical and related industries. Over 100 resident companies are registered, about 20,000 people are employed in the cluster. The total revenue of Pharma City was 2.5 billion dollars in 2017.

All necessary conditions are provided for potential investors: well-developed infrastructure, tax benefits, etc. Various support measures allow investors to reduce the costs by almost 40 per cent in the implementation of business projects.

Minnikhanov noted the successful experience of Pharma City in working with investors and developing the pharmaceutical industry in the country. “The most important thing is that you have your own recognizable name and experience in organizing this work. We are interested in cooperation in this field,” he added.

After the presentation, Minnikhanov had a tour of the industrial park.

Late the same day, Tatarstan President visited one of the leading factories of the pharmaceutical cluster – the enterprise of Aurobindo Pharma Company. The main area of the company’s work is the production line of antibiotics. Minnikhanov examined the digital logistics center, a workshop with the production line of tablets and capsules and the packaging production facility.
