Rustam Minnikhanov: It is necessary to develop the system of consumer cooperation in every region of the republic

On March 17, at the Government House of the republic, speaking at a regional videoconference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov with participation of all municipalities, Board Chairman of the Union of Consumer Cooperatives of the republic Makhmut Fattakhov reported on the results of the work of the agency in 2017 and plans for 2018.

In particular, Fattakhov said that in 2017, the regional Union of Consumer Cooperatives provided services to the population in the amount of 23 billion roubles or 112 per cent as compared to the previous year. He noted that the leadership of the republic provided great support to the agency. For example, the regional authorities refunded expenses in the amount of 60 million roubles for the delivery of the essential goods to the settlements located far from the district centre and contibuted to the construction of 53 one-stop shops under the Rural Shop programme for more than 11,000 rural residents.

Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov stressed that consumer cooperatives solve important tasks and that there is no similar organization in the country. It is necessary to support the system of consumer cooperation and develop it in every region of the republic, he added.
