Mikhail Babich and Rustam Minnikhanov congratulate women on the forthcoming International Women's Day from the stage of the Jalil Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan


On March 6, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich took part at a solemn event dedicated to the International Women's Day which was held at the Jalil Tatar Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Mothers with many children, those who bring up adopted children, women-workers of various sectors of industry, women awarded in recognition of upbringing children and strengthening of family traditions were invited to the concert on the occasion of International Women's Day on the 8th of March.

The concert began with the performance of the Tatarstan State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Sladkovsky. Singer Salavat Fatkhetdinov came next.

Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to Volga Federal District Babich congratulating all women on the forthcoming International Women's Day reminded the history of the appearance of this holiday. According to him, the 8th of March was celebrated as the day of solidarity of all women, as the day of women's struggle for their rights.

Today, the 8th of March is celebrated as a holiday of love, admiration for women, Babich said, and people always remember, first of all, their mothers. He wished happiness to all mothers and happy motherhood to all women. We do not understand how you manage it - to be the best at work, to support the family hearth, to take care of the family, Babich said, addressing to all women. He also wished women to be always confident in their men.

“We love you, cherish you and will always be able to protect you,” Babich stated.

Tatarstan President appealed to the present in the hall women in the Tatar language. He also congratulated them on the forthcoming holiday.

We are proud of families like yours, you will always be an example for many people, Minnikhanov said, referring to mothers of many children, we are proud of you!
