Rustam Minnikhanov has a meeting with Ambassador of France to Russia Sylvie Bermann


On February 19, at the Governor’s Palace in the Kazan Kremlin Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Ambassador of France to Russia Sylvie Bermann.

Welcoming the guest, Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan has developed good working relationships with the French Embassy in Russia. “We attach great importance to the development of cooperation between Tatarstan and France under the Russian-French relations,” Minnikhanov said.

He also reminded that he was on a working visit in Paris on December, 2016. During his stay, he took part in the Business Forum with participation of Tatarstan and France enterprises. A concert of masters of the arts of Tatarstan was organized, meetings with Chairman of the Senate of France Gerard Larcher, with Director General of UNESCO Irina Bokova and other officials were held.

“Our republic has gained good experience of working with French business,” Minnikhanov said. “We cooperate with a number of French regions such as Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, Auvergne‐Rhône‐Alpes and other regions. The Plenipotentiary Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan is operating in Paris for almost 25 years. Alliance française cultural-educational non-profit public organization is actively working in Kazan,” Minnikhanov continued.

During the meeting, Minnikhanov briefed about the economy of the republic and the most promising projects being implemented in the region.

We are ready to cooperate on mutually beneficial terms and to develop our relations with French business, Tatarstan President said, addressing Sylvie Bermann. He said that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and France grew significantly according to the results of nine months of 2017, the dynamics is substantial and there is an opportunity to restore the turnover and increase it to the pre-crisis level.

Bermann arrived on a study working visit in Kazan (on February 17-19, 2018). The presentation of the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan was made for her. She also got acquainted with the sights of Kazan - the Kazan Kremlin, the Kul-Sharif mosque and the Annunciation Cathedral, visited the mobile exhibition "Collages of Jacques Prevera" at the Hermitage Kazan Centre.
