On February 6, speaking in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, at a regional video-conference broadcast online, general producer of the festival Dmitry Tumanov said that the 18th open television youth festival “Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk” will be held under the slogan “The millionth participant in Tatarstan”.

“During 20 years of the festival’s work, about a million people aged from five to 21 took part in it. The regional movement was recognized as the best at the congress of the Children’s Rights Commissioner in 2015. It was recommended to extend the experience of the republic throughout the country,” Tumanov said.

Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk festival is a laureate of Russian Government Award in Culture, owner of national award of public recognition “Family of Russia”, a laureate of the regional award of Musa Jalil. Its main organizer is the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of Tatarstan.

On February 25, 2018, municipal qualification stages of the 18th regional open television youth festival of variety art  “Sozvezdie-Yoldyzlyk” will start in the cities and regions of Tatarstan.

“The festival is held under the patronage of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and under the auspices of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO. The municipal stages will be held in ten cities till March, 30. Winners of the municipal stages will be invited to the grand final to Kazan, which will take place at the Cultural and Sport Complex “Unics” from 8 to 12 April. All children from the regions wish to come to Kazan. We invited 5,100 people last year,” Tumanov noted.

The names of the winners will be announced at the gala concerts, which will take place at the Cultural and Sport Complex “Unics” on April 13 and at the Piramida Entertainment Complex on April 20.

“It is not necessary for all participants to become artists. They should become leaders in life and win. The participants of the festival graduate from the Tatarstan Conservatoire and the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts, they are teaching now. They never sing to the soundtrack and that is why they are exemplary for the stage,” Chairman of the Jury and the People's Artist of Russia Zilya Sungatullina said.
