Rustam Minnikhanov presented a project of educational channel for children in the Tatar language

On January 17, at the Government House of the republic, Director General of Novyj Vek TV and radio company Ilshat Aminov presented a project of educational channel for children in the Tatar language to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

The Shayan channel should cover children’s audience from the age of three years and  envisages the creation of scientific, entertaining, educational programmes.

The participants of the meeting discussed issues of TV content, variants of broadcasting, including the possibility of broadcasting via cable TV. According to the project, the channel might be on 24-hour basis.  It is also expected that the programmes will be with subtitles.

“The issue of creating such a channel in Tatar language is relevant and popular,” Minnikhanov said. “We shall continue to work on this issue taking into account already exciting experience,” he concluded.

Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administration Asgat Safarov, Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov, Minister of Education and Science of the republic Rafis Burganov, Minister of Culture of the republic Airat Sibagatullin and other officials took part in the meeting.
