Ekzam Gubaidullin elected new Сhairman of the Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan

On December 21, at the Korston Entertainment Complex, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the 12th congress of the Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Opening the session, Deputy Chairman of the regional Council of Municipalities Vladimir Kozonkov, said that 946 people from 956 municipal entities arrived in Kazan to take part in the congress.

It was then announced that Chairman of the Council of Municipalities of the republic of Tatarstan Minsagit Shakirov had a request to resign for health reasons.

Head of Mamadysh municipal region, Chairman of the Counting Commission of the congress Anatoly Ivanov said that the decision to hold the congress was taken by the presidium of the Council of Municipalities of the republic on the 12th of December. He said that there are a total of 956 municipal entities, including 43 municipal regions, 2 city districts, 39 settlements, 872 rural settlements in the republic.

The delegates of the congress voted for the early resignation of Minsagit Shakirov, who was not present at the congress for health reasons. With their applauses the delegates thanked Shakirov for his work as Chairman of the Council, for his significant contribution to the establishment of the municipal government system in the republic.

As for the election of the new chairman of the Council of Municipalities of the republic, Head of Spassky municipal region Kamil Nugayev proposed the candidacy of Ekzam Gubaidullin and briefly presented his biography and track record.

Gubaidullin was unanimously elected Chairman of the Council of Municipalities of the republic. In his turn, he thanked for the trust they placed in him and assured the delegates that he would do his best to further improve the system of local self-government in the region.

Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Head of Bugulma municipal region Linar Zakirov and other officials made reported at the congress.
