Tatarstan State Council approves Rafis Burganov for the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the republic - Minister of Education and Science of the republic

On December 21, during the 34th session of the local State Council of the fifth convocation, people’s deputies agreed on a proposal made by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov to appoint Rafis Burganov as Deputy Prime Minister of the republic - Minister of Education and Science of the republic.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Chairman of the local State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin took part in this year’s last meeting.

Before the approval of the candidacy of a new deputy prime minister,  the members of the Council supported an open vote. Nominating Rafis Burganov for approval, Pesoshin noted that Burganov has many years of experience at the municipal and regional levels.

Until recently, Burganov headed the Committee for Economics, Investments and Entrepreneurship of the regional State Council. "You know Rafis Burganov as an experienced person. He has a strong character, great managerial skills, which he uses for the benefit of the republic,” Pesoshin added.

As the result of voting, as many as 79 people’s deputies unanimously supported the candidacy of Burganov.

Speaking at the session, Mukhametshin noted the fruitful well-organized work of Rafis Burganov as Chairman of the Committee of the local State Council and wished him success in his new position.

In his turn, Burganov thanked the leadership of the republic and the deputy corps for the trust they placed in him.
