Rustam Minnikhanov: The machine building complex is an important part of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan

On December 7, at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the opening of the 17th International Specialized Exhibition “Machine Building. Metal Working. Kazan” and the 12th Specialized Exhibition “TechnoWelding”.

This year, the exhibition has brought together 153 companies from 20 regions of Russia and 17 countries, displaying their latest development, technology, the latest equipment and innovative systems in the field of mechanical engineering, metal processing and composite materials. Qualifying competitions for the WorldSkills open regional stage will also be held during the exhibition.

Welcoming the exhibitors, Minnikhanov stressed that the machine building complex is an important part of the economy for both Tatarstan and the whole country.

"Today we have an opportunity to get acquainted with the achievements that are very important for our machine-building enterprises. I would like to thank representatives of enterprises from other regions of Russia. I am sure that this exhibition will give an impetus for further development of the machine-building complex of our country,” Tatarstan President added.

CEO of WorldSkills International David Hoey, who also took part in the event, expressed confidence that the exhibition will be held at the highest level and demonstrate the excellence of blue-collar jobs. He reminded that Kazan will host the 45th WorldSkills Championship in 2019.

"WorldSkills is an international organization, with 78 countries being its members. We also strive to raise production standards to a new level as well as you do. I am very pleased to see that educational facilities, industrial enterprises and authorities have established good relations in the region,” he said.
