Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov: The average monthly wage in the agro-industrial complex of the republic has made 23,200 roubles over a nine-month period this year

On November 25, speaking at a video-conference held by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Agriculture of the republic Marat Akhmetov reported on the payment for labour in the agro-industrial complex of the republic.

"In general, prices for grain, sugar beet, sunflower have fallen almost twice in the republic, with positive rates of growth in natural indicators of agricultural organizations. A price for milk is 1.5 roubles lower than last year, which has negatively affected financial results," Akhmetov said. “ With an increase in costs of up to 24 billion roubles in crop growing, the profit from sales is expected to be lower than three billion rubles, which is 1.5 billion roubles less than last year," he continued.

Akhmetov also said that the average monthly wage in the agro-industrial complex of the republic has made 23,200 roubles over a nine-month period this year, including 20,900 roubles in agriculture (excluding the food industry), which makes 66.4 per cent of the average wage in the economy, but with a 14 per cent increase as compared to the previous year.

The growth in the average wage has been achieved due to an increase in labor productivity by 14 per cent (1.7 million roubles). while the number of employees has remained the same. Tukaevsky, Zelenodolsky, and Pestrechinsky regions with high-tech complexes are traditionally among the leaders, with wages above the average level, the minister said.
