On November 18, during his working visit to the People’s Republic of China, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the International Center for Import of Food, also known as the World Food City.

Located in the city of Shenzhen, the World Food City covers a total area of 550,000 square meters. It is an exhibition pavilion, which houses regional and individual brand stands. The opening of the centre took place on October 26, 2017. A total of 460 million US dollars were invested in the project. It offers various types of products and services in such areas as agriculture and food products, tourism, sports, recreation, investment and international integration.

"We are glad that our collaboration with the World Food City has become one of the practical results of our cooperation with China. We are impressed by this new center, which is not only an exhibition pavilion for brands, but also a place for trade, investment attraction, and a convenient platform for business interaction. The delegation of the managing company of the World Food City visited Tatarstan in September this year. Today, the Pavilion of the Tatar House is open at the centre. We are very pleased with the opportunity to present Tatarstan products for the Chinese market. I am sure that our partnership with the World Food City and expansion of the market for our goods in China will help attract Chinese investors interested in joint production of goods and products in Russia," Minnikhanov said about the International Centre for Import of Food.
