Univation Technologies considers Alabuga Special Economic Zone as one of the sites for locating production facilities

On October 24, at their meeting in Houston, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of Univation Technologies Steven Stanley discussed issues related to further cooperation, including those under the agreement on long-term strategic cooperation signed between Univation Technologies and Kazanorgsintez Chemical Company.

Minnikhanov noted that Univation Technologies is a long-standing and reliable partner of the republic. He assured that the regional leadership will provide overall support for implementing joint projects of Univation Technologies and Kazanorgsintez Company.

He offered to discuss in more detail the possibility of opening a plant for the production of Univation catalysts in Tatarstan, which is also stipulated in the the signed agreement. The Alabuga Special Economic Zone, which offers tax preferences, conditions for investors, is considered as one of the sites for locating production facilities.

Director General of the Alabuga SEZ Timur Shagivaleev told the meeting about the possibilities of the special economic zone.

Steven Stanley suggested setting up a special working group to look into the opportunities for opening a plant for the production of catalysts in the Alabuga SEZ.

"Deeper integration will allow us to talk about long-term cooperation. The availability of production facilities gives us confidence in the future, investment projects are always costly, and this interaction is in our mutual interests," Minnikhanov said.
