Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is successfully cooperating with many US companies

On October 23, speaking at a business forum in Texas, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a working visit in the USA, invited representatives of American companies to cooperate in various fields.

At the Texas-Tatarstan business forum in Houston, a presentation of the industrial potential of Tatarstan was made. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American-Russian Chamber of Commerce Andrey Pidgirsky acted as a moderator of the forum.

Representative of the Houston’s City Council David Robinson and Consul General of the Russian Federation in Houston Alexander Pisarev welcomed participants of the forum.

We continue to work actively with American partners in the field of space exploration, oil industry, education, Pisarev said in particular. He noted that there is an interest in enhancing relations at the regional level, including those with one of the Russian regions - Tatarstan.

Minnikhanov thanked representatives of the companies participating in the forum for the interest shown to Tatarstan. "We expect that during this visit our business circles will open up new areas for cooperation, agree on joint projects. Despite the difficult political environment, we believe that relations between Russia and the United States can remain constructive. The international political climate has gradually returned to normal. And the task of regional governments is to continue the dialogue and give the right signals to business. We hope that the current visit will give a new impetus to the development of cooperation between the republic and companies of your country," Minnikhanov said.

We are interested in attracting American business and capital and we will be glad to expand mutually beneficial relations and are ready to provide assistance, he said.

"There are ample opportunities for joint activities, primarily in the field of economics, which we are not using in full. There is great potential for developing ties with American companies in such areas as oil processing and petrochemistry, machine building, aircraft industry, production of cars and components to them, IT and other high technologies, energy saving, construction and infrastructure projects; medicine and pharmaceuticals industry, agriculture,” he said.

Minnikhanov briefly described the economy of Tatarstan and invited American investors to work at its industrial and innovative sites.

"The Russian market continues to develop actively. We are interested in foreign companies choosing our republic as a starting platform to work in Russia. We invite you to cooperate with Tatarstan,” Minnikhanov said.
