Rustam Minnikhanov has a meeting with King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud

On October 6, in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is on a state visit in Russia.

The meeting began with a friendly handshake. Minnikhanov warmly welcomed the King of Saudi Arabia. "I am very glad to see you again. The dream has come true, you have visited our country," he said.

In his turn, the King of Saudi Arabia stressed that he is following the development of Tatarstan as one of the Russian regions. He also expressed satisfaction with his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is expected that Russian-Saudi relations will be intensified.

The meeting discussed issues of further cooperation as part of interstate Russian-Saudi relations, issues of Islam and others. In addition, the sides discussed interaction as part of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, which is headed by Minnikhanov on the instructions of Vladimir Putin.

Minnikhanov told the meeting in more details about the activities of the Strategic Vision Group. He also offered the King to consider the possibility of holding a regular meeting of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group in Saudi Arabia. The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud supported the proposal and gave corresponding instructions.

Minnikhanov also suggested holding a regular meeting of the joint Russian-Saudi intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation in Kazan.
