Mintimer Shaimiev addresses students of Kazan Federal University: “If you want to work in this industry try to be like Vagit Alekperov”

On September 27, the President of LUKOIL PJSC Vagit Alekperov spoke before students of Kazan Federal University.

State Counsellor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and Vagit Alekperov accompanied by heads of the biggest Russian oil producing companies, public figures and politicians arrived at the university after the ceremony of summarizing the results of the 8th Contest of social and cultural projects of LUKOIL PJSC in the Republic of Tatarstan that was held at Piramida complex.

Rector of the university Ilshat Gafurov presented the guests: “Politicians, public figures, heads of companies have delivered lectured here. Today we have an opportunity to listen to the LUKOIL CEO Vagit Yusufovich Alekperov.” He told about the university developments in the sphere of geology, oil production, petrochemistry and physics.

Vagit Alekperov told about the development of fuel and energy industry in the country and in the world, and presented his own vision about the future of the company’s strategy.

Answering the question how to climb the career ladder, Alekeprov said: “One needs to start working at drilling sites in Siberia. If a young specialist gains practical experience and is inspired with patriotism he will climb the career ladder very quickly. The secret of success lies in honest labour and love for your work,” he said.
