Alexey Pesoshin meets representatives of Tatarstan abroad and in Russia regions

On September 21, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin had a meeting with representatives of the republic abroad and in Russian regions.

Speaking at the meeting, Pesoshin noted that the main tasks facing the republic for the coming year have been set in today's address of Tatarstan President to the regional State Council.

Pesoshin said that in 2016 the volume of foreign trade turnover of Tatarstan amounted to 11 billion US dollars. The first half of 2017 saw the positive trend (8.5 billion US dollars) with a growth of 62 per cent as compared to the same period last year. The share of export sales in the trade turnover makes 77 per cent, while imports account for 23 per cent. The Netherlands, Poland, Germany, the United States and Latvia are in the top five among the most active countries.

As for the CIS member states the mutual trade indicators have exceeded 973 million US dollars with an increase of 35 per cent for six months of 2017. The share of exports is 85 per cent, while imports - 15 per cent. Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan are in the top five countries.

"For the third year in a row, Tatarstan has topped the national rating of the investment climate. Since 2010, about 9 billion US dollars have been attracted," he went on to say.

Pesoshin noted that the meeting participants are carrying out an important task to protect foreign economic interests of the republic.

"In his annual address to the regional State Council Minnikhanov outlined the priority areas of work related to attracting investments, promoting domestic products to foreign markets, developing cultural, educational and other ties between Russia's regions and foreign countries," the Prime Minister added.
