Rustam Minnikhanov: The law must guarantee the protection of investors' rights

On September 15, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a plenary meeting of Kazan Legal International Forum 2017. Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneurs' Rights Boris Titov, Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Igor Artemyev, Chairman of the Partners Committee of Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev & Partners Law Firm Dimitry Afanasiev, Chairman of the Board of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Vladimir Gruzdev and other officials took part in the forum.

Artemiev read the greeting of the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to participants of the Kazan Legal International Law Forum.

"The capital of Tatarstan has become a unique discussion platform that has brought together leading lawyers, representatives of the government and business from different countries to discuss topical issues of the development of law and the economy, their mutual influence," the greeting says in particular. The Russian Prime Minister stressed that the legal environment can become a key factor in economic growth, give new impetus to the development of key industries and strengthening international cooperation. According to Medvedev, a professional and productive discussion will be held in Kazan, which will be interesting and useful for all its participants and will allow them to exchange experience and fresh ideas, establish new business contacts.

Welcoming participants and guests of the forum Minnikhanov stressed the need to maintain a balance of interests of the state and business. "The law must guarantee the protection of investors' rights, but at the same time exclude the possibility of abuse of law," he said.

Tatarstan President noted that the regional leadership pays much attention to assisting entrepreneurs in various matters. He said that he is trying to meet personally with all the major residents. According to him, the predictability of economic policy in Tatarstan, balanced law comprehensible to business partners ensures the confidence of investors and their interests in the implementation of large-scale projects in the republic.

Kazan Legal 2017 is an international legal forum that is taking place in Kazan on 14-16 September. More than 1000 delegates, including foreign participants from 35 countries and representatives of 35 Russian regions are taking part in the event.
