Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan-China trade turnover for 6 months of 2017 increased by 75 per cent

On September 14, at the second session of the Subcommittee on cooperation in the field of industry of the Russian-Chinese Commission for the preparation of regular meetings of heads of governments in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan-China trade turnover for 6 months of 2017 increased by 75 per cent.

The meeting was chaired by Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China Miao Wei.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that current joint projects implemented in Tatarstan have a great impact on the development of business relations. The work of Haier Company is one of such business initiatives.

“Agreements with a number of Chinese provinces, companies and universities have been signed. We are actively participating in the work of the “Volga-Yangtze" regional group. A modern plant producing mineral fertilizers was launched in Mendeleevsk last year. It was built by China National Chemical Engineering. Moreover, Haier opened a plant producing refrigerators in Naberezhnye Chelny. The work on launching the production of washing machines is underway. Haier is planning to create a modern high technology industrial park in Tatarstan. The agreement of intent is to be signed today,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
